Project Flora in Schools
“Flora nas Escolas” (Flora in Schools) is a voluntary social project that began in 2016 with the aim of educating and training children aged 8 to 10 years old, from municipal public schools in the city of Luziânia, in the state of Goiás – where one of Flora’s factories is located – on topics important in everyday life. Volunteer employees share knowledge with these children on the following topics:
Safety at home: practical tips to be adopted in the routine, with the purpose of reducing the risks of domestic accidents, in addition to a basic notion of first aid;
Environment: reinforcement on the importance of conscientious consumption of resources, such as electricity, and showing how each attitude is responsible for the well-being of nature and, consequently, for our quality of life;
Hygiene and food: knowledge and techniques aimed at promoting health and preventing diseases with hygiene practices and content on healthy and balanced food.
Through recreational activities, games and simple language, children are able to absorb the tips, content and guidelines in a light and fun way.
The project has already worked in partnership with more than 20 schools, impacting more than eight thousand students from the local public school system. The objective is to disseminate the importance of volunteer work among our employees and bring Flora closer to the community of the city of Luziânia.
